“It was snowing butterflies” composed by Patrick Van Deurzen was a dark, yet playful peice reminding me of the chaos and unpredictability of snowflakes themselves. In trying to find a visual identity for the piece, I was inspired by Touchdesigner artist Simion David Ryden and the intense strings of the violin.

Collaborators: Marta Lopez Castro – violin, Katia Milano – cello, Enrico Clerico – piano, David Ehren - Engineer

This work was reliant on audio reaction, but was rehearsed and performed in multiple locations, that even with our connections being grounded into the microphones themselves, this change in location still allowed for certain shifts in our data depending on the space. To minimize these differences and allow for a stunning visual output everytime, I had to decide what was going to be controlled by the musicians and what would be controlled by me allowing for the best output to the audience.
